Dolly Parton praises Beyoncé for her rendition of the classic song ‘Jolene’
Dolly Parton complimented Beyoncé’s cover of “Jolene” on her new country album “Cowboy Carter,” which was released and praised by Vice President Harris and fans. Beyoncé’s album became the most-streamed album on Spotify in 2024 so far. The album also includes covers of songs by The Beatles and Chuck Berry, and features collaborations with artists like Miley Cyrus and Willie Nelson. Parton’s original version of “Jolene” was ranked on Rolling Stone’s list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. Beyoncé described the album as celebrating her Texas roots and being born out of an experience where she did not feel welcomed in the past. She released a song from the album, “Texas Hold ‘Em,” the month before the album came out.
