Donald Trump

As a MAGA supporter, it’s concerning that Trump is selling the “God Bless the USA” Bible to his supporters, potentially leading them to read it and see his flaws. This Bible venture, launched during Holy Week, may flop like his previous ventures. The Bible highlights commandments Trump has violated, such as committing adultery and bearing false witness. Despite his legal issues and violations, evangelical Christians justify supporting him in the hopes of his redemption through Jesus Christ. The teachings in the Bible, particularly the Sermon on the Mount, contradict Trump’s actions and beliefs. Jesus’ words on meekness, mercy, purity, and peacemaking are the opposite of the “Just win, baby” mentality of MAGA. Jesus also emphasizes the importance of treating others with compassion and addressing social issues like immigration. Evangelical support for Trump seems to overlook these teachings, indicating a suspension of belief in favor of political agendas. Jesus’ warning about false prophets in the Sermon on the Mount is relevant in the context of Trump’s quest for power.
