The Browns have signed experienced special teams player Justin Hardee.
The Cleveland Browns added veteran special teams ace and Cleveland native Justin Hardee to their roster, who spent the last three years with the New York Jets. Hardee, a cornerback by trade, has carved out a prominent role for himself in the NFL as a kickoff and punt coverage specialist. He began his career with the Texans in 2017 as an undrafted free agent, spent four seasons with the Saints, and joined the Jets in 2021 before signing with the Browns. Hardee has appeared in 100 games, recorded 63 special teams tackles, and made one interception throughout his career.
Hardee’s signing fills an important need for the Browns, especially after losing CB Mike Ford to the Texans this offseason. During a game against the Jets in December, Hardee was caught on camera congratulating quarterback Joe Flacco and expressing his desire to bring a championship to Cleveland. The addition of Hardee to the Browns’ roster will strengthen their special teams coverage units for the upcoming 2024 season.
